Werkstoff 1.4438 AISI 317L UNS S31703
Werkstoff austenitic stainless steel 1.4438 AISI 317L UNS S31703 has as its main characteristic the large amount of molybdenum in its chemical composition; this provides greater resistance to chemical attack than austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum steels of the AISI 316L type. This grade has about 1 percent more nickel chromium and molybdenum than AISI 316L austenitic steel.
Because of these specific characteristics, it is mainly used in the chemical and petrochemical paper and pulp industries and in the energy sector particularly in fossil and nuclear power generating stations.
