Duplex A182 F51 UNS S31803 Werkstoff 1.4462 SAF 2205 is a two-phase Cr-Ni-Mo-N stainless steel material (austenitic and ferritic structure) resistant to pitting and stress corrosion. It has good mechanical strength combined with excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for seawater applications. A182 F51 UNS S31803 Werkstoff 1.4462 SAF 2205 is used where ordinary austenitic stainless steels AISI 304 and 316 cannot withstand corrosive environmental conditions. It is therefore used for the construction of components for valves, pumps, flushing systems, filtration systems, marine infrastructure fasteners, and all devices subjected to very severe corrosive conditions. EN ISO 3506-1 and EN 3506-2 classify this material as D6 suitable for structural applications as per DIN-EN 1993-1-4:2015-10/EUROCODE 3-ANNEX A CRC classes.
