Nitronic® 50 A193 B8R A479-S20910 XM-19, is a stainless steel that combines excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. It is an austenitic stainless steel that possesses higher corrosion resistance than that provided by the more classical AISI 316 and AISI 316L as well as about twice the yield strength at room temperature. In addition, Nitronic® 50 UNS S20910 XM 19, has excellent mechanical properties at both high and subzero temperatures. Unlike many austenitic stainless steels, Nitronic® 50 A193 B8R A479-S20910 XM-19 does not become magnetic when cold worked. The exceptional corrosion resistance of Nitronic® 50 A193 B8R A479-S20910 XM-19 makes it suitable for applications where more common steels such as AISI 316 316L 317 317L or 17-4PH are unsuitable. It is a suitable alloy for various fields of use such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizers, nuclear fuel, recycling pulp and paper, textile food and the shipbuilding industry. Using the combination of excellent corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength, it finds use in the manufacture of pump components, valves and fittings, fasteners, cables, chains, shields and wire cloth, marine hardware, boats and pump shaft line and heat exchanger parts.
